PSA Birth Certificate takes copyright seriously both in protecting the original content published on this site and in responding impartially to intellectual property concerns raised by others.
Overview and Our Commitment
This website exists to help Filipino citizens make sense of the PSA birth certificate request process, a task that is more complicated than it should be. Every article, guide, comparison, and resource here was written directly by our editorial team. We do not pull content from other sources, and everything published on this site is our original work.
That said, respecting intellectual property is not a one-way street. We take our own rights seriously, and we extend the same seriousness to anyone who raises a legitimate concern about content on these pages. This policy reflects our obligations under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. ยง 512) and aligns with Republic Act No. 8293, the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
Whether you believe something here belongs to you, or you think a removal was made in error, the sections below walk you through the right steps. You can also review our Disclaimer page to fully understand the information.

A valid counter-notification must include:

5. Repeat Infringer Policy
We uphold a firm policy regarding repeat infringers. Any user found to have violated intellectual property rights on more than one occasion will have their access permanently terminated. This approach aligns with the safe harbor provisions set forth under the DMCA and is consistent with the standards to which our users are committed.
All received notices and counter-notifications records submitted are kept on file. Patterns of repeated infringement or patterns of abusing the takedown process will directly influence our decisions about continued access to this site.
6. Good Faith and Misuse of the DMCA Process
The DMCA was established to safeguard the legitimate interests of rights holders, not to serve as a tool for the unjust suppression of content. Under 17 U.S.C. ยง 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that content is infringing or that a removal was made in error can be held liable for damages, attorney fees, and other costs.
Every submission we receive is read carefully. Notices that appear exaggerated, speculative, or unsupported by real evidence will not be acted on. We ask that anyone using this process do so honestly and with accurate information behind their claim.
7. Philippine Intellectual Property Law (R.A. 8293)
This website is based in the Philippines and serves a Philippine audience. It operates under Republic Act No. 8293 alongside international copyright frameworks. R.A. 8293 governs copyright, trademarks, patents, and related rights across the Philippines. It protects all original works from the moment of creation; no registration is required.
For written digital content, that protection extends for the lifetime of the author plus 50 years. Reproducing or distributing our content without authorization constitutes a violation of both Philippine law and the international conventions the Philippines has ratified. If you believe content on this site has infringed your rights under R.A. 8293, you can file a complaint.
This policy was written and reviewed by the PSA birth certificate editorial team โ a group of writers and researchers focused on Philippine government document processes and regulatory compliance.
